It is approximately 14 inches long. It has its original hanging (this tag is slightly creased, see pictures) and rear tags. The collar ID tag has separated but can easily be glued back together.
In the 2005 movie "Because of Winn-Dixie", the dog is a rare French herding breed called a Berger Picard (pronounced bare-ZHAY pee-CARR). While the book describes him as a scruffy, mixed-breed "mutt," the filmmakers used Berger Picards for their scruffy appearance, intelligence, and to ensure consistency across the multiple dogs used for filming.
The movie "Because of Winn-Dixie" was released in the United States on February 18, 2005. The film, produced by Walden Media and 20th Century Fox, is a family drama directed by Wayne Wang. It was released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 9, 2005.
